LinkedIn Developing Audio Rooms (Too)

The trend of audio rooms continues to gain steam this year. Next up in the market: LinkedIn

Beta testing is expected to begin “sooner than you think,” Digital Information World Reports. 

This comes on the heels of Clubhouse’s growth and Twitter’s launch of audio rooms with “Spaces.”

Facebook Makes Changes to News Feed

If you like viewing posts from friends in chronological order, Facebook is making it easier for you. This feature never went away — it just became really hard to find. Now there will be three options at the top of the news feed: Home, Favorites, and Recent. 

“‘Home’ is the standard algorithmically-powered News Feed, and ‘Favorites’ is a News Feed that highlights people and pages you’ve designated as favorite,” Yahoo! Finance reports. “‘Recent’ provides you with a News Feed that shows the latest posts from everyone you follow.

Note: As of this report, the feature is available to Android users; Apple users will see the roll out “in the coming weeks.” 

Pinterest’s Reveals New Ad Campaign, Updated Tools

With 459 million monthly users – and rising – Pinterest is putting forth an effort to differentiate itself from other social media apps in a new ad campaign called “Be Their Next”: 

With the campaign’s launch, Pinterest also revealed an “audience” page for business profiles full of statistics and additional videos on why people should rely on their app this year. 

And that’s not all! Pinterest is also unveiling a Business Account ad account management process with new tools for brands. 

Google Lets Users Take Down Reviews

TikTok Remains No. 1 Downloaded App

The most downloaded app in 2021 so far remains TikTok, according to an App Annie report. The company says it hopes to have more than 1 billion users by the end of this year. 

This news comes as TikTok announced recently that an auto-captions feature has been added. 

Not to be outdone, Instagram has expanded auto caption tools to IGTV and will do the same with Reels and Stories.  

Instagram has now also launched the TikTok-like Remix option for Reels. 

Facebook Launches Dynamic Ads for Streaming

Facebook has launched “Dynamic Ads for Streaming,” which lets video streaming brands show relevant titles to users in order to entice new sign-ups. 

“With Dynamic Ads for Streaming, when people see an ad for your service in their feed, they can swipe through the ad to see personalized, relevant titles they might be interested in, based on interests they’ve shown on Facebook and Instagram,” Facebook says. “Audiences can also follow your call to action to start a trial or subscribe.”

After the news, Facebook’s stock increased to an all-time closing high of $309 per share.
